hd_holidays: The Last Hurrah recs #1
This is the first quick rec post for hd_holidays: The Last Hurrah. I still haven't read all of them. In fact, I haven't even finished with week two... So I'll be posting the recs as I read. Probably once I'm done with a week of fics. I was planning to make the recs longer this time, but there are so many fics, and I want to read all of them, which means I have less time to write more elaborate recs. Plus I'm lazy. :P So, the recs will be the same as the ones I made for holidays 2006: some basic information, and then a few notes. In other words, extremely short. :P

I'll put these recs on my rec list once the authors have been revealed. It's easier that way, because I won't have to edit the posts to add the authors later. :)

Healthy Sportmanship (NC-17) by Anon.
Length: ca 11,000 words
Summary: "Who'd have thought the worst part about being a Quidditch medic wasn't the stress and disgusting bodily fluids, but the ordeal of caring for the Cannons' star player Harry Potter?"
My notes: The first fic that was posted. If you like to read about healer!Draco, then you should definitely read this one. Or you should at least go look at the beautiful art posted with the fic. :)

In/Sight (NC-17) by Anon.
Length: ca 10,000 words
Summary: "Harry keeps coming by junior minister Weasley's office... but is it really just to have lunch with his ex?"
My notes: Contains: blind Harry, assistant!Draco, voyeur!Kneazle and avocados. It's not a humour fic though. :)

The Many Faces of Draco Malfoy (R) by Anon.
Length: ca 4,500 words
Summary: "Harry's going to save the world but first he needs to face Malfoy. All of him."
My notes: Okay, now this one was funny! :D If you like clichés, and making fun of them, then this is the fic for you. :D

a mix of snow and petals (PG-13) by Anon.
Length: ca 5,500 words
Summary: "It's been two years since The Incident, and Harry still hasn't gotten completely over it, still can only get by day-to-day. Enter Draco, who will do anything to reestablish his name in the Ministry and the Wizarding World..."
My notes: The author described the genre of this fic as "crangst" (cracky angst). I think this just might be one of my new favourite genres. It really worked well. :D

The Perfect Drug (NC-17) by Anon.
Length: ca 14,000 words
Summary: "In which Draco's life is shady, Harry is out to save the world from itself, and revenge turns sour."
My notes: It's a long plotty story with Auror!Harry and not-exactly-good!Draco. It also has a really smart potion in it (and "smart" magic is one of the things I love). I really enjoyed reading it. :)

Swirl Stick Thingies and Other Magical Oddities (NC-17) by Anon.
Length: ca 12,000 words
Summary: "A potions mishap, a family secret, and one very confused Boy Who Lived all add up to a good ol’ romp in the Room of Requirement...eventually."
My notes: This fic has three things that I love: Veela, forced bonding and a snarky Snape. Ooh, and a hot sex scene too! :D

Two Blokes, A Bike and A Biro (PG-13) by Anon.
Length: ca 8,500
Summary: "Out with the old, in with the new. Draco Malfoy's got his life classified and catalogued, everything in its place. But, Harry Potter’s unexpected appearance at Hogwarts shakes up Draco’s organized world."
My notes: What I loved the most about this fic was that it showed how wizards react to Muggle things. Or, really, how Draco reacted to them. It was quite funny! :D And, of course, I also loved the fact that Draco has a more unusual job in this fic. So, go read it! :D
