I'm bored. I'm updating my rec list, and all of the other lists on my journal, but I'm still bored. I don't even feel like reading fic. It's awful. *feels sorry for herself* Maybe I should reorganise stuff again... Organising stuff is always fun! (for me at least) :D

Btw, does anybody else have Google talk/ Yahoo!messenger / AIM / other chat programmes? I feel like chatting. :D

Another thing. It's probably a stupid idea, but I've been thinking. I've been going through my rec list, through the fics that I have sorted by author. Anyway, I've noticed that a lot of authors archive their fic under different names, and some on 8 different archives (yes, I'm really thorough when collecting the links for my recs. :P). So I was wondering if it would be a good idea to put all of that in one place? I know there's hd_directory, but that's more like a community for the authors' and artists' bios (kind of like a rec community, I guess). I've been thinking about something more like a collection of people's names and the places they archive. Just so that they'd be easier to find when people are looking for their fic in different places and by different names. I've noticed people sometimes get confused because they know an author by the name they use on FA, for example, when the author nowadays posts under their LJ name only. I've put the same author's fics under two different names because I didn't know it was the same person. I thought they were two different people for months. :o So, it'd make things easier. Anybody'd be able to put themselves on the list if they wouldn't be there yet, as long as they contribute something to H/D (write, draw, make icons, videos, rec, etc.). So it'd be kind of like a phone book, except without the phones. So, is that a completely dumb idea? I already have most of the authors that are on my rec list organised in a similar way (I just might have a bit of an OCD issue with organising things :P). So, yay or nay? ... It'd make stalking so much easier... :P

It was one year aniversary since I started reading HP fanfic and I can't believe I forgot it! :o Some time in the end of October or beginning of November last year was the time when I went "Oooooh, this is fun!" and started looking for more fanfic to read. :D

For the last two weeks I've been working on a list (yes, another one). It started with me re-organising my links (which took ages) and posting a list of my favourites (H/D, post-HBP), and then it sort of blew up and turned into something bigger; I started collecting links of long-ish (12,500 words or more) H/D post-HBP stories, so I could make a list. I know people in different LJ communities often ask for stories which take HBP into consideration, so this seemed like a worthwhile thing to do. It took a lot of work, a lot of clicking, and a lot of reading.

I haven't read all of the stories I've collected, though I have at least some idea what they're about. I didn't have the time to read them all, and, frankly, I doubt I ever will (some just don't interest me). I didn't have any "quality control" or anything like that, so the list contains both what people would consider to be good, and bad stories. I didn't put my opinions there (fics I liked can be found listed here).

Anyway, this list turned out to be huge. ( Statistics after the cut. )

So I hope at least a few people will get some use out of it, and find stories they haven't read yet. If not, it was still an interesting way to pass the time. :D I might even make a list of Snarries when I have the time.

I was having a really good day until I was on my way home from my evening lecture and some drunk man tried to convince me to "keep him company" while I waited for the subway, and then grabbed my arm and pulled me back when I tried to walk past him. So I was completely paranoid the rest of the way home, and jumped every time somebody walked past me, and was on the verge of tears by the time I got home. I've never felt safe walking home alone at night (bad experience), and just when I was feeling a bit braver, this happens. I know I'm probably overreacting, but still...

I think I'll go sulk a bit now, stuff myself with chocolate, and then read something funny. A new chapter of Harry Potter and the Obligatory Sequel was posted today, and that's always hillarious, so I think I'll go read that. And then eat more chocolate. :|

So the winners of the Multifaceted awards and HP Oscars have been anounced. Although I haven't really been able to see who won the HP Oscars, as all I get is a lot of question marks and random letters. But the complete list should be up soon (hopefully). :) Still, I've heard from others who some of the winners are, and I'm happy that at least some of the stories / authors I voted for won. Although I have to admit it was the first time I've heard of any of the other authors, so maybe I should try to read some of their work.

Anyway, congratulations to all the winners! You all deserved it. :D
