I'm finally done with schoolwork for this semester. This last month has been hell. I think I took on too much... I was basically taking twice the amount of courses in the last half of the school semester, at two different universities, so I had to hand in three essays in the last week. But now I'm finally done. Yay! :D Although I'll probably have to write the book review again, because I know it was really bad. But I just didn't have the energy to make it better. Ohwell. :/
I know I'm a bit late with the update to the H/D HBP list. I'll try to do it tomorrow if I have the time. I'm going home on Friday (to Slovenia) for three weeks, so I'll have to pack tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to it. :D I'm going to spend those three weeks being extremely lazy; meeting my friends, sleeping, reading, and sleeping. And taking pictures of cows ('cause it's tradition). It'll be great! :D
I found this cool site a while ago. It's basically children's art drawn realistically. It looks funny. Go look! I think this one is my favourite - it just looks so sweet! Although I like the gremlin/cat with boxing gloves too. I wonder how the drawing I made of my mum when I was four would look like. With the huge blue hair, huge head, and one leg shorter than the other.
Anyway, I'm still here. Till Friday at least. :)
Btw, does anybody know why I sometimes can't see art posts in LJ? There's no icon there or anything, just no picture where there should be one (others seem to see it because they comment on it). I tried it both with Firefox and Explorer, but it just doesn't work sometimes. Is it the Livejournal or my computer settings?

Gah. I was supposed to be repeating some grammar right now, because I have another exam tomorrow (yes, exam on a Saturday), but I've been playing with the Drabble-Matic instead. Here's what came out: ( Silliness after the cut )
Anyway, I'm feeling tired and whiney (is that even a word?) and I'm going to bed.
(Psst, I've updated the H/D HBP list.)

So I checked my email this morning, and I received 20 livejournal comment notifications. My first thought was: "Oh crap, what did I say to piss them off?", because I normally just receive replies to the comments I make. But apparently my question was up on the daily_snitch and I got so many replies because of that. So, umm, I don't even know where I want to go with this. Just that it was a nice surprise so many people read my post. *happy* :D
On another note, why didn't anybody ever tell me that reading a sex scene and trying to improve the grammar could be so embarrassing? *is apparently a prude*

Aww. There are two male ducks in Malmö, Sweden, that are completely ignoring all of the female ducks around them that want to mate with them. Apparently they only have eyes for one another, and behave like any other duck couple (the bigger one defending the smaller one...). According to the report on SVT1 (in Swedish) there are also two male black swans that adopted a goose egg (hatched it, and raised the gosling), and a pair of female seagulls that mate with males every season, but then take care of the offspring themselves. :D
I'm really glad they showed this on the telly, because it annoys me when people say that homosexuality is unnatural (or against nature) and can't be found in nature (I've heard this argument many, many times). But like a professor in the report said, there are many other things that we do which are more unnatural, "like religion or sleeping in pyjamas".
/The link to the report will probably stop working in a few days./

Right. I've finally figured out how to set up the journal, even though it took me ages. So I guess I'll start by introducing myself first.
I'm rather new at the Harry Potter fanfiction scene. I started reading in November last year when I was bored of studying and was looking for something fun to do (and reading is always such a good excuse for me). I found the first few stories that I read on Immeritus, and then I followed some of the recommendations there. I became a "fan", so to speak, after I came across sam_storyteller's Cartographer's Craft. Since then I've been reading a lot of HP fanfiction, and have even been contemplating writing some myself (although that will never happen).
I read all types of stories, although I prefer stories with at least some kind of a plot – I do read an occasional PWP, but that’s really not my thing. My favourite types of stories so far are Harry/Severus or Harry/Draco, and stories that don’t have depressing endings (I need to be in a special mood to read the really depressing ones). I have a lot of favourite stories, but I won’t even try to enumerate them right now as I’m sure I’d forget some. I’ll try to make a list of them some day.
So, that’s it with the introduction, and my first ever post on my LJ. Yay! :)
Oh, I should probably say that I’m 24 (as of today) and that I live in Sweden. *forgetful*
--- S.
