LOOK AT MY NEW JOURNAL HEADER ARTWORK! JUST LOOK AT IT! IT WAS DONE BY THE INCOMPARABLE MASTEROFMERCURY AND IT IS THE MOST AWESOMEST THING EVER EVER EVER! I HAVE ALWAYS WANTED TO USE IT AND TONIGHT I ASKED IF I COULD AND SHE SAID YES AND I AM HAPPY CONCEPT, HAPPY, HAPPY CONCEPT!
It is so awesome, in fact, that when she gave me permission to use it I promptly flailed and knocked over my tequila--three times.
I'm so happy it's not even funny. It's even better than seeing a house I liked. For serious. That says something about my priorities, but what the hell. It's so pretty it could even go with For a Reasonable Fee or Comes at a Cost.
This is the happiest day EVAR.
Now go read Naughty Girl. It's the teeny ficlet I did a few years ago for this pic. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Finished the pathfinder, both paper and web versions, and submitted 4 hours before deadline. *does happy dance* Only one more major assignment, plus a final exam, for the two LIS classes, if I remember correctly. Will double-check tomorrow. Possibly a minor thing or two as well, not sure.
Also today took SO out to lunch, went to four stores for grocery and other shopping, and made a white-bean-and-greens dish that turned out pretty well (which is good since there's like 3 or 4 more meals' worth!). Watched part of ST:XI during dinner, SO's choice.
Tomorrow: walk Juno (hopefully) and/or do some yard work, work on resume and job apps, cook for the first half of the week, talk to maternal unit, and do some reading for classes.
Other things to do over the next week: start writing holiday letter/cards, make a lot of cranberry bread, possibly bake regular bread, write/edit some fic, work on last big LIS assignment, go to the art museum, cook a lot, clean the house, and do the last course preps for the term. I was really really clever and managed to schedule things so that I don't have any grading of substance to do over Thanksgiving, go me!

OMG, they are naked!
Finally I am writing fic where the boys are undressed in less than 5000 words.
Kisses both boys soundly, and gives them chocolate and Firewhisky to share. Kisses Muse too, even if she gives inspiration and whole paragraphs while I am in the shower and have 15 minutes to get to work after.
The boys are naked!!!!!!

Mostly greens this time: collards, something that's either chard or beet greens, some greens that I can't identify but are clearly for cooking, green cabbage, a small head of broccoli, and cherry tomatoes. Still have last week's collards and beets, too. So - I found a recipe for beans and greens, cooked white beans w/ the greens then cooked in them, with garlic and olive oil. Should be okay and seems easy, which is a plus. Also going to make herb-baked chicken breasts and Russian potato soup, along with cooked radishes (SO is dubious, but willing to try) and cooked beets for me.
We're having Thanksgiving at our neighbors' (J & C), so I'm not responsible for the turkey, yay! SO is supposed to go over later today and find out what they'd like us to bring; he's already volunteered to bring the butternut squash and apple dish, but probably I'll make at least a couple of other things also. Thus I will not do the grocery shopping until after that's been determined. Sometime this week or maybe next weekend, I plan to make cranberry-nut bread for local gift-giving, too.
In the meantime, back to work on the pathfinder. The library catalog was being uncooperative last night; here's hoping it's working right this morning.

You know what? I love Galaxy Quest. I love it so much that I got the Blue Ray and I just spent an hour watching it dubbed in Thurmian. O.o *g* I think it's time to go to bed.

Oh, jeez. I just got hit with a silly idea for a follow up in my Pink!verse. I wonder if I can sustain it? It would be short, but I think I may need to write it. More flamingo!Harry! :D Super silly fun.

Or in my case, working on the weekend. We didn't have our usual Friday "date" tonight, i.e. going out for dinner, partly b/c we both have work to do tonight, partly b/c we had to eat out so much last weekend while traveling.
I graded quizzes and reading responses and wrote up the last paper assignment for one class this afternoon; also finished/submitted an LIS assignment, and spent 1+ hour in the library looking up stuff for the other one (due tomorrow). Dictated some drabbles and posted one (link at end).
Juno was not good tonight; our neighbor-across-the-street J. was over talking with SO and brought his dog Luna, and the two dogs were playing pretty well in the back yard. I fed Juno when it was her dinner time, and then gave each dog a biscuit. Juno ate hers immediately, and when Luna didn't and dropped it in some leaves, Juno went after Luna's and there was a brief brawl. SO and J. managed to separate them quickly, but clearly they cannot both be given food in proximity, or else there will have to be very close supervision.
Okay, I have to work on this assignment. It's not conceptually difficult or anything, but substantial. Sigh. Not due till midnight tomorrow, but it would be good to get most of the content worked out tonight and then all the formatting etc. tomorrow - it has to be presented as both a paper flyer and a web page/site.
Have I said lately how glad I will be when this semester is over? All right, here's the drabble:
- Luck [Kirk/McCoy, general]: Kirk's in sick bay, again. Here at LJ.

You stay classy Harlequin! You stay classy!
What gets me, is that they've the nerve to be upset that the RWA's taken away thier princess points for that stunt. Did they somehow think that authors would APPROVE of Harlequin pimping (and yes, I mean that 'pimping' in the most denigrating way possible, by the way,) a brand new vanity press at its slushpile? Of COURSE the RWA's disgusted!
Harlequin's spin doctoring attemtp is even worse, given that it's more or less like Huggy Bear trying to deny the existence of his stable of whores to his wife when she busts him at work. It's a plain sign of disrespect, and I look forward with schadenfreude to Harlequin's authors jumping ship in hordes over it. (Not that that'll actually happen, of course. Authors are too desperate, generally, to continue seeing their works in print once they've got a taste of it. Still, chance would be a fine thing.)
In other news.
I lost yesterday to being eaten by a grue. I lost today to a migraine. I got more or less nothing done on either, and am therefore a Very Bad Girl. Now who's going to write my spanking? (Leers at Certain Demographic of my Flist.)
This weekend will involve a drive to Boston, during which I expect I shall write some. We're going to see Enter the Haggis, and that'll be a good pick up to wash the dirt off the shovel with which I'm burying the dismembered corpse of this past week. (And how's THAT for a metaphor? Cause I mean every word, thanks.)

…and I'm a submissive. As in, a contracted and collared sub to my husband, Matt. D/s, BDSM, leather, lifestyle, call it what you will. It is what it is.
Originally, I intended to post something like an introduction because, as my fandoms branch out, there are new people on my flist. And I tend to be loud and opinionated when it comes to head exploding kink fics. Figured offering some insight to me might help explain the tangent rants I sometimes have. Along with the fact that most, if not all, of my fics have some display of power dynamics, no matter how subtle.
I'm sure those of you who know me best find that to be an understatement. Heh.
This has morphed, through conversations with friends, into not only a hey, this is me post, but also one that, for lack of tact on my part, is a whoa! let's think about this before you write it post. Mainly because BDSM comes under enough fire without having misleading works of fiction floating around out there stirring up more trouble than they're worth.
And, honestly, not trying to be a bitch, but if a piece of fiction disregards the basic principles of safe, sane, and consensual they really are more trouble than they're worth. They set a stage for others, those not in the scene, that can lead to misunderstandings, arguments, and, most important, serious injury.
Not cool.
Not when it takes just a few lines of dialogue, or even implied conversation to lend believability and credibility to the work.
To that end, I've started a list. ( Which is actually quite funny seeing as I despise lists. )
Got questions? Ask 'em. I'd rather you ask me something embarrassing than you make my head go splodey in the next fic I run across.
* * *Whoa! Additional Lifestyle discussions taking place... irana is talking about consent, SSC, and RACK. You can read that post here. snapesgirl_62 is talking about polyamory. You can read that post here.

Just a quick reminder to all daily_deviant members and watchers that the deadline for your Kinky Kristmas submissions is coming soon. You've got ten more days to turn things in. We've already gotten in some amazing pieces from our member -- December is going to be fantastic!
Completed pieces are due by Monday, November 30 and should be emailed to dd.mods@gmail.com. Fic must be a minimum of 1,000 words and art must be a completed piece. Both fic and art must merit at least an R rating. No crossovers permitted. Watchers: your pieces must fit into a single IJ post. The mods reserve the right to refuse any fic that contains multiple SPAG problems or art that appears to be a last-minute slap-dash sketch, so be sure to plan ahead and find a reliable beta!
