:: About my art lists ::
I've moved all of my art lists to my Insanejournal, so from now on they can only be found there. I still left the posts on my LJ though, but I deleted all of the art links from there and just left a link to the lists on IJ instead. The updated links are below:

Please change your links if you have them. For those of you that are reading my journal on other journals - you won't miss anything if you're not reading my IJ. I'm going to make posts on LJ, etc, linking to IJ when I update the art lists or post more art recs.

From now on they can only be found on my Livejournal. It'd be just too much work to keep them updated on two or more journals... But, again, you're not going to miss anything if you're reading on other journals, because I'll crosspost all updates. :)

I checked all of the links on my art lists to see if all of them still worked, and to try and find off-LJ links. I've found that a couple of links don't work anymore, or are f-locked. Does anybody know where I could find working links? :) ( Missing / f-locked art )
Also, I still haven't found some of the fic links from my rec list. Here is the post with the missing fic links. Please go look and tell me if you know where I can find any of the fics. :)

I've finally managed to go through my entire rec list and checked which links still work and which don't. I haven't updated the links yet, but I will do that very soon. There are a couple of stories, though, which I can't find anymore. Does anybody know where I could find them? I've looked in various archives, and Googled for them, but I just can't find them.

I've been thinking about this problem we have where people are archiving or distributing fics without the authors' permission. Like I said in celandineb's post, it's sad because it seems to me that a lot of these people don't know that what they're doing is wrong. They think they're doing people a favour by helping them find fics and by making the fics more accessible to them.
Most of these people are probably new to the fandom. They've just started reading and they're excited about it and want to share that excitement with other people. I know that when I started I first thought that fics could only be found on one archive (FA) and on authors' sites. I had no idea that people had LJs, and that there were dozens of other archives. And I admit that I didn't realise there were so many archives until I started with my rec list. So I think that some of these people probably don't know that the fics can be read in more places than one. They just want to help, but what they do is annoy people. And that's sad. :(
Maybe we could make this occur less frequently by making sure that more people know the "rules". The archives could put some information on what's allowed to do with the fic found there, and what isn't. The same goes with communities where people post their fic. They could put information about that in their profiles. Just something that would say that you shouldn't distribute the fic without the author's permission. I know that this wouldn't stop everyone from doing it, but maybe it would stop at least a few. :) (I don't really know, but maybe most archives and communities already do this... I haven't checked. :P)
I admit that I have every single one of the fics on my rec list saved on my computer. I save them in case the archives are down sometimes and I want to reread the story. And it also makes the categorisation so much easier when I have the fic in one file. But would I distribute them? No way. Not if I could find a working link for the fic. If somebody asked me and I couldn't find a link for the fic, I'd tell the person to ask the author for the fic. Usually they're nice enough to send you the fic themselves, or at least give you permission to ask somebody else to send you the fic (from what I've seen, at least). You just have to ask. Nicely. :P
AND since we're talking about distributing fics, I've found another journal where the fics are posted without the authors' permission. They posted stories by authors who have already left fandom, so I'm not going to write the name of the journal here (at least not now). I have written a comment there myself though, asking them to remove the stories. I hope they won't be all offended like the last time I asked somebody to do that... And I was incredibly nice that time. :(

I said I'd write a bit more about Sectus when I came back. I wanted to post yesterday evening, but Livejournal was down, so I read Deathly Hallows instead. :D
I had a wonderful time at Sectus! I met a bunch of people... I'm not going to enumerate them, because I'm certain I'll forget about half of them. But you know who you are. *waves* :D
The presentations were all wonderful! I listened to quite a few good ones! I really loved the lecture by Immo Garn, which was about how to explain magic by Muggle Chemistry and Physics. Then there was "Draw your own Snape!" by ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) lizardspots, Harry/Draco post-DH, HP and sexuality, and a presentation about fandom post-DH in general by nqdonne which was a lot of fun, and others. :D
The night the book came out was fun too. I didn't buy the book in London, because I had ordered the book in Sweden and was unable to cancel it, so I had to read the copy that was going around the Internet. I'd have preferred to read the actual book, but I really wanted to discuss the book with people the next day. We were up until about 8 am... Actually, we didn't go to bed at all. I think I had a nap for one hour that day. :D And then in the evening there was Not the Yule Ball, where everybody looked pretty. :D
The con was fantastic! I definitely want to go to another one soon! :D

I'm planning to post a lot over the next two weeks, because I'm going to have to focus more on my studies in August... D: Here are the things I want to do:

I heard that sometimes people dress up for conventions. Like Harry, Snape, Rita Skeeter... But those costumes are expected. So here are my stupid idiotic original costume ideas for Sectus (or other conventions / Halloween )! :D

OMG!!! Has anybody else noticed the change in the summary of Ab Epistulis on Skyehawke???? :D The final chapter will be posted soon! It feels like I've been waiting for ages for that! YAY!!!! :D

Art lists:
Fanart making fun of canon - 6 new. I also expanded that list a bit, so it now also includes not just fanart making fun of the books, but also other "canon", namely the films. And I also made a separate section with the created in anticipation of Deathly Hallows and on the basis of the cover art for the book.
Two new lists: Fanart making fun of fanon (fanfic clichés and similar) and HP crossover art. I posted these last night, but I added to them today again. So if you saw them last night, you might want to check them again. :)
I'm still going through the art bookmarks. I thought I'd make a few more lists (one or two), for example one could be historical fanart. This would be art where the characters are drawn in other historical periods, for example the Second World War or the Roman era. Would anybody be interested in me making that list? :)
Misc.:
gossymer wants to know which new authors or stories you have recently discovered. And she's also also looking for H/D fanart recs. :)

I had a nap this afternoon (YAY for naps!!!) and I had the weirdest dream. I dreamt that Dobby became a designer after the war. He loved clothes (and socks) so much that he decided to design them. And all of the clothes (robes, shirts, etc.) had these sock prints on them, or were made out of socks sewn together. Weird. O_O
Btw, is anybody else having problems with LJ? I'm not getting any comments emailed to me. :/
